Office Hours c/o Joel Evey

Office Hours was a 3-day sensorial installation/workshop for Unfinished Festival at the National Museum of Art in Bucharest, Romania by PLAYLAB, INC. and Joel Evey. The installation explored normative methods of productivity and ideation in a faux corporate environment. Over the course of 4 days, participants produced their idea of the future by building on others', all in an effort to effect the dynamics of their corporate environment. Every participant walked away with a zine of the most discussed ideas.

As the corporate environment shifts to being an increasingly performative endeavor, Office Hours examined the effect of pure conceptual exploration on the biological surroundings. Using plant sonification technology as a metaphor for the traditional “water cooler”, we transformed the space into an environment that responds in real-time to the input/output of a participant’s involvement.
