In 2009, we sought to explore projects that engaged the community. We collaborated with a group of designers through Project M, and created a lo-fi, simple pie shop in Greensboro, as a means to foster conversation between incredibly diverse groups of people. We designed the menu, website, furniture, and collaborated with pastry chef Breanne Kostyk on pies. Pie Lab has since then gone on to win grants and awards, and has been a fully functioning shop and small business incubator since opening in 2009.
