Virgil Abloh "ARTWORK"

"This innovative book was one of the most stirring products of Virgil's "Question Everything" approach, for why hire one design firm to make a book when you could choose three? Under the seasoned and thoughtful guidance of the MCA's former Chief Content Officer Susan Chun and Publisher Mary DelMonico, we navigated a thrilling transatlantic partnership with design supergroup OK-RM, PLAYLAB, INC., and &&& Creative to make a book unlike any other we've been involved in before." – Michael Darling

On November 3, 2018, Virgil handed us a hard drive with every file from every computer, phone, and external drive that he has owned since 2008. Asked to curate a selection of images from his archive for this book, we found screenshots, sketches, artboard studies, working files, production files, presentations, playlists, selfies, images from photo shoots, notes, invoices, and correspondence by text, WhatsApp, and email. Plus the occasional surprise. The result compiles a tiny fraction of his work, organized by key projects, into a visual representation of a continuous effort, a constant state of production, and an inexhaustible desire to create.
